ARRGGHHH, cwazy leftwing nutjobs scare poor kitty

OK then, they got caught publishing a false story, got burned by their sources, made to look like a bunch of rope carrying fanatics making it up as they go along. Anybody else would be only too glad to name the secret source who bent them over and pumped them hard.

But not Truthout, no no, they are far to ethical to name the person or persons who just fucked them. Which means, that either, they just made it up, or the "source" is so discredited that they are ashamed to admit that they were taken in by this character. This part is sweet,

Truthout of course published an article on May 13 which reported that Karl Rove had in fact already been indicted. Obviously there is a major contradiction between our version of the story and what was reported yesterday. As such, we are going to stand down on the Rove matter at this time. We defer instead to the nation's leading publications.

Meaning, we are completely giving up on even trying to get it right, please go watch the TV news instead... Seriously? Well, I never thought they were worth jack to begin with, but it's nice for them to admit it in public like this. The fan replies are cherry too.

While I am disappointed, (Rove should be indicted), I believe this is the only course of action for TruthOut to take at this time.

In three years we may know more. Practice tolerance, kindness and charity

One way or another, there's more story to come, as the OSP will have to announce something, eventually. Whether the announcement sheds any light on what exactly happened is anybody's guess.

In any event, cheers to Truthout for pursuing this story and keeping us informed as best as possible. Courage means sticking to your guns, even when people start shooting back at you.

as best as possible? WTF? Well we know you tried really, really hard! or something like that? What a dunce.------

TO is not propoganda, a political rag, a monster with it's own agenda etc. (hhhahhahahahahhaaaa... editers note) Your taking "one baby step" aside can't be a relief to Rover since it's not ignominious defeat and disappear, is straightforward and practical re MSM; There is no benefit for any of us to be crushed by the machine while they monopolize all the ink.

Tactical without bloodshed. Beautifully done and the beginning of a fascinating saga with y'all there watching, risking, thinking, reading, writing for many americans more than TO. Your manner of journalism in this instance actually adds an element of fun! What's next??

Well fuck, as long as it's fun, who cares if ya got it all completely wrong....

Just One Minute

He just doesn't get it.

Mr. Rather expressed some disappointment with Leslie Moonves, the president and chief executive of CBS. In late 2004, Mr. Rather announced he would step down as anchor in March 2005. In the interim, Mr. Moonves told a gathering of television critics in California that he hoped to blow up the program's "voice of God, single anchor" format. (After exploring the notion of an ensemble, CBS announced this spring that it was hiring Katie Couric as the program's sole anchor.)

Asked in the interview about Mr. Moonves's remarks, Mr. Rather said, "My problem with the 'voice of God' thing was that it was meant disrespectfully."

What an arrogant bastard, he puts out a bogus report, defends it as the absolute truth, even after it's been disproved, and thinks he should be treated like a king of old??? Jesus Christ, he got caught conducting a personal smear, and doesn't understand why he's not respected at the top, why he's toxic waste now?

It was not possible yesterday to determine which other outlets may have had conversations with Mr. Rather about future work. Representatives from Fox News, CNN and NBC said their organizations had made no offers to him, and an ABC executive said he knew of no discussions with Mr. Rather.

His hero Ed Morrow was noted for bringing done Joe McCarthy for using forged evidence, and Dan doesn't see the total irony of this?

Asked at an Association of Alternative Newsweeklies convention what his role would be if his wife were elected, the former two-term president said, "I'll do whatever she wants, and I have no idea what that is. I honestly don't know whether she's going to run."

Funny, he didn't seem to do that before?

"Order me up another intern please, this ones full. I'll never get those stains out..... sigh"

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Dumb as dirt, and wondering why she's disliked.

Expose The Left has this report on the ditzy chicks. Maines contribution to the national debate.

“A lot of pandering started going on, and you’d see soldiers and the American flag in every video. It became a sickening display of ultra-patriotism.”

“The entire country may disagree with me, but I don’t understand the necessity for patriotism,” [Natalie] Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. “Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don’t see why people care about patriotism.”

You know, they really don't understand any of this, they openly pissed all over their fan base, and demand, DEMAND that everyone kiss their ass's for it. They call it intolerant narrow mindedness, bigotry, cause God dammit they are FREAKING ARTISTS, and we HAVE TO BUY their shit. Well missy's, we have free speech too, so get the fuck over it. You have no constitutional right to get paid for being assholes. That's what they are saying. That they did nothing wrong, and we have no right to be offended, none at all. Because we are all supposed to live in their little brain dead progressive utopia, where fans are supposed to have no opinion not spoon fed to them by Maines.

It's hubris, it's mindless arrogance, it's self deluding, and ultimately, suicidal for their careers. So they continue giving middle America the finger, and think it's just horrible that they aren't mobbed as progressive superheroes.

Fuck them, enjoy the Vegas gigs ladies, cause you have just put yourselfs in Wayne Newton country, a fan base so small, that you'll be doing late night infomercials pretty soon.

Say hello to Davy Jones.

Pity party, yay..

It's over.

After 44 years, Dan Rather will leave CBS by the end of the month, at the latest, industry sources said Friday. His departure could come as early as next week.

furthur down.

The tragedy in the piece, according to some at CBS, is that Rather, for whatever reason, refuses to accept a lesser role that would keep him at the network.

60 Minutes creator Don Hewitt and legendary former anchor Walter Cronkite, both nudged out of their positions, still are under contract and maintain offices at CBS News, though their duty is light.

Rather wants to work hard. If he can't do it at CBS, he'll do it somewhere else.
But no matter where he ends up, Rather will forever be known as a CBS newsman, the correspondent says.

"You can let him leave, but CBS News is burned onto his forehead."

ok, that last link was catty, so what. Rather was the hard hitting slam a fist on the table press icon, and he always spoke truth to power. That is, if you were a republican. Democrats got pretty puff pieces, and Dan finally destroyed himself in a Captain Ahab moment lusting after the Bush great white National Guard whale.

Boo fucking hoo.

He engaged in a smear, and got caught. The real sad part is that everyone at CBS except the money guys want to give him a pass on it. A pass, yeah, he all but threw all of CBS's professional credibility in the trash, and the press room wants him anyway. I fully expect he will pop up again, but this time without the "I'm only after the truth" bullshit. He'll show up in commentary somewhere and jump back on the DNC jihad against the Bush family. A hack is a hack, no matter how much the MSM loves him.

Imagine if you would, a FOX anchorman pushing a report proven to be a fake, about Hillary. Then imagine the MSM's reaction to his retirement. Get the feeling that they would feel a teensy bit different? Maybe a bit of high fiving and jubilation?

Think they would show a speck of remorse?

A moment to pause and think.

This report should give the MSM something to think about.

"Both the media and terrorists benefit from terrorist incidents," their study contends. Terrorists get free publicity for themselves and their cause. The media, meanwhile, make money "as reports of terror attacks increase newspaper sales and the number of television viewers."

The researchers counted direct references to terrorism between 1998 and 2005 in the New York Times and Neue Zuercher Zeitung, a respected Swiss newspaper. They also collected data on terrorist attacks around the world during that period. Using a statistical procedure called the Granger Causality Test, they attempted to determine whether more coverage directly led to more attacks.

The results, they said, were unequivocal: Coverage caused more attacks, and attacks caused more coverage -- a mutually beneficial spiral of death that they say has increased because of a heightened interest in terrorism since Sept. 11, 2001.

Professor Reynold's who provided the link said,

God help 'em if the trial lawyers get ahold of this information. . . .

Lawsuits, with news agencies being brought to trial for complicity in terror attacks? I'm clueless as to wether this could happen, but it does make a kind of sense. Especially if it comes out that Americans are killed in direct response to the terrorists media coverage. We've all heard the rumors of media being given tape shot by terrorists themselves, to feed the evening news cycle. If it's true, and they don't say anything up front, doesn't that make them an active arm of the terrorists?

Complex to be sure. I do think that merely claiming press priviledge isn't enough, not when one side is openly using them, and they don't tell their audience. So maybe lawsuits are a good idea. Freedom of the press shouldn't mean, free to use your own press against you. No matter how willing they are to be used.

The 11th commandment

Thou shalt not speak ill, of a fellow republican.

I remember this from my favorite president. He truly held to it, and while the times have changed, I try to adhere to it. In this day and age, the word republican is too narrow a definition. So I expand it to those who share your concerns and values. I will not speak ill of someone on my side, unless they break the following rules.

1. Openly attack their own side.
2. Change sides
3. commit an act harmful to our side.

Does make me a partisan, sure it does, but that's hardly a bad thing. It's only bad when you defend someone who isn't worthy of it, a crook, or a knave of one variety or another. Someone whoharms the ideals you believe in. Which brings me to this, Kos and his fanatics scream about Impeachment, because they say, he lied, wages an illegal war. That would merit impeachment,....

if it were true.

The problem is that to a KOSSACK, all you have to do to lie, is be a republican. Hardly an unquestionable source, since they stand to gain power if their little propaganda ploy works. Just read what they say, and you have to wonder? Do they smother republicans in their own families in the dark of night? I mean jesus, how can you hate that much, and still mingle with other citizens.... knowing that some of them... gasp, are the dreaded sith lord republicans.

I will speak no ill of someone who is on my side, who does no harm to the cause. Can KOS say that? After Lieberman? When you savage your own for not being pure enough, but let others slide, because their money's good... That is the difference between being a loyal partisan, and being an extortionist.

The hunt resumes

He called it a "huge treasure ... a huge amount of information."

(AP) Iraqi National Security Adviser Mouwafak al-Rubaie holds up a copy of a document purported to have...Full ImageWhen asked how he could be sure the information was authentic, al-Rubaie said "there is nothing more authentic than finding a thumbdrive in his pocket."

"We believe that this is the beginning of the end of al-Qaida in Iraq," al-Rubaie said, adding that the documents showed al-Qaida is in "pretty bad shape," politically and in terms of training, weapons and media.

"Now we have the upper hand," he said at a news conference in Baghdad. "We feel that we know their locations, the names of their leaders, their whereabouts, their movements, through the documents we found during the last few days."

The work remains to be done, but still, this is a crushing defeat for al-Qeada. That we now have names, and places, even if they're running, a target rich enviroment. Big names, if we nab them, mean much better intell. It's not just Iraq either, this could cripple their operations in the whole region. We haven't won the war yet, but this may be our battle of Midway in this war, the singular moment when it all turns in our favor. A lot of work to do...

but a major victory to be sure.

KOS for sale?

You know, I've no trouble at all believing this.

What - exactly - is the relationship between DailyKos and the candidates it supports? And when are they going to stop being coy about it?

Instapundit provided the link. It's enteresting though, I've come to the conclusion that there are basically four kinds of bloggers.

A. First rank types like Professor Reynolds, experts in their fields. Journalists, military experts, professionals in a multitude of fields.

B. Part time bloggers who have knowledge and expertise, but blog for fun, for relaxation, really smart people who have something important to say.

C. Hack bloggers, ones who push a fringe agenda regardless of it's merit. Conspiracy hacks, UFO true believers, Klan types, neo-nazis, all the certifiable crazies.

D. Everyday joe types, men and women who blog as a hobby over family, about friends, politics, movies, whatever enterests them.

Now these aren't absolutes, and there's bound to be some cross-overs. It's merely my own opinion so it's worth no more than that. I blogged for a time at a B level blog, but never had any special talents, we're still friends, and I still go back to check in every couple of days. Sondrak's place is one of those types that is impossible to to define, I love it, but wouldn't try and pigeon hole her. If I had to, I'd put her as a cross between A & B, highly entertaining, plus, they actually have some serious talents.

Me, I'm just a D. type. No special talents or aspirations. I don't break news, or entertain large groups of people, I blog for me, and it's as simple as that. I love to write, and am forever trying to hone my skills, minor as they are. But I make no claim to anyones time, or like KOS, their money. KOS may be the worst type, a combinaton of C and B, he get's the traffic, but is nothing more than a paid hack when he hold's his fire, for money. The studies about leftwing hate being at an all time high may have something to do with that. His readers are convinced that the middle and right that vote against them are evil, and not just wrong or unconvinced.

Which puts them in with the neo-nazi and conspiracy types.

Also, KOS's appitite for PUNISHING those that disagree within the party,... I mean really, it's like slashing your teachers tires over a bad grade. KOS will never rise above hack till he loses that schoolyard bully aspect of his site. I don't know anyone else who would take actual revenge against someone just for saying, "I disagree",... do you?

The figures that KOS cites, how many of them are from critics, who like me go there to laugh at them, and how many who actually agree? I'd bet his numbers would really fall if you could seperate the two.

So now he can't duck the hard questions.

A criminal defense attorney for a Marine under investigation in the Haditha killings says he will call a senior Democratic congressman as a trial witness, if his client is charged, to find out who told the lawmaker that U.S. troops are guilty of cold-blooded murder.

Murtha was the one Congressman to issue public statements on Haditha, both claiming that guilt wasn't in question, and alleging a coverup. He claimed inside knowledge, which strangely, onley he seems to posses.

Col. Dave Lapan, a spokesman at Marine Corps headquarters at the Pentagon, said Mr. Murtha was one of eight senior House members and senators briefed by Gen. Hagee in May on the investigation. "I don't know what he told them," Col. Lapan said.

and the other seven seem to be complicit in silence, if you believe Murtha. I don't actually. I think he recieved a general briefing with the others, then RAN to a camera to wildly exaggerate and distort what he was told. In a courts martial, he's bound by the same laws as everyone else. He can be charged with purjury, if he can not prove his claims. Ironic that the democrat who hoped to hitch his wagon to a war crimes star, may end up in prison because he got tripped up in his own distoted lies. He's not able to claim he was just claiming that it was his opinion, not when there's a ream of film showing him making his claims of inside knowledge. The Marines already know what he is, it's time everyone else can see just how low a snake he is.

Public Enemy number one?

Did you know that the godfather of al-Qeada studied in the US? And that he was convinced that we were all damed to Hell on one evening at a dance?

The tipping point from detached observer to extremist ideologue took place at a Church dance in Greeley when, as Qutb recalled in "The America I Saw," the pastor dimmed the lights and put on the come-hither number "Baby, It's Cold Outside," a hit tune from the MGM movie "Neptune's Daughter" -- a guy, girl and bathing suit lemon -- with Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban.

"The room," Qutb wrote, "became a confusion of feet and legs; arms twisted around hips; lips met lips; chests pressed together." That was the scene that turned him off American culture in particular and Western culture in general -- and onto Islamic fundamentalism.

"American girls," Qutb said, "know perfectly well the seductive power of their bodies... that it resides in their face, expressive eyes and hungry lips. They know that seduction resides in firm round breasts and hungry lips, full buttocks and well shaped legs -- and they show all this without trying to conceal it."

Breasts and butts are the evil we should all guard against?..........

I'm sorry but he really had me going there for a second, it seems that the mister Qutb,..(how the hell do you pronounce that anyway), couldn't deal with a woody and launched a Holy war over it...

The word misogyny comes to mind.

power of their bodies... that it resides in their face, expressive eyes and hungry lips. They know that seduction resides in firm round breasts and hungry lips, full buttocks and well shaped legs -- and they show all this without trying to conceal it."

"dammit all, cover up those firm, round, breats,... firm...breasts, round,,..round and firm"... What kind of repressed freakozoid goes to war over his lusts? They think we are backward?

This accounts for a lot don't you think, combine it with the 72 virgins thing and you have the most messed up group of repressed horn dogs imaginable. So out of control that they kill as a substitute for sex!

these guys are sooooo 5000 BC.

Boromir is my favorite hero from the Lord of the Rings. He's like all of us, flawed, but he in the end did the right thing. His sacrifice was one of the acts that allowed Merry and Pippin to grow, to find in themselves the hero that they needed to be.

Aragon, would be king, Gandolf, the others all had a part to play. Boromir's was to light the way to finding the courage that can't surrender, can't quit. He was loyal to the very end. He lit a light inside the hearts of his friends, his perhaps was the most human, most touching of the heroes stories.

For those who are curious, this site has many things of interest to LOTR's fans.

uh huh, the dems would never, ever deal with corrupt businessmen.

At an appeals hearing in 2005, Soros told the court his insider trading conviction had been a "gift to my enemies" in the United States and elsewhere. "My reputation is at stake," he said.

Soros has often drawn criticism for speculating heavily on the collapse of fragile currencies. In 2004 he also angered many conservatives in the United States by pumping millions of dollars into election campaigns to try to unseat President George W. Bush

"Gift"? Well,... yeah, it is. But it's of Soros's own making, and if the history shown is true, this guy has played fast and loose with the law for some time. So, can any Democrat say,..."Enron", you can... how about "Soros is an insider trader"? What's that?... you're not choking on that are you?

actually, it's ironic that the billionare bagman for has been found out to be ethics impaired. Not surprising when he attempted with progressives help to try and buy an election, Al Gore, the best politician Soros could buy. Dirty money and Democrats....

like we haven't seen this adozen times before.

Easter Bunny and Bigfoot, what do they have in common with.....

Al Gore......

Carter does not pull his punches about Gore's activism, "The man is an embarrassment to US science and its many fine practitioners, a lot of whom know (but feel unable to state publicly) that his propaganda crusade is mostly based on junk science."

Al Gore is selling snake oil, and when the scientists who actually do the research on climate say so, you have to be pushing your own agenda to buy into this hoax. There's a lot of money at stake, research grants, government contracts, not to mention the "glory" of having saved the planet from the evils of free market republicans....

That the planet is'not in immediate danger seems to be beside the point for them.

Drudge provided the link. I have to say, that when a guy screams about scientists being on his side, but when you look to actually see who they are to discover that it's social scientists, engineers, biologists,....

everyone except climatologists.....

who's full of shit here? If anyone tells me he believes in Gore's little dog and pony show, I'm going to laugh in his face. Do your research, you may find that it's the left that's really been lying to you. So, how does it feel to be used, like a two dollar whore? Saving the planet,

oh please.

this explains a lot.

Leftwing, or rather, self proclaimed "extreme" leftwing views on conservatives.

Remember, thermometer scores are ratings of people, not ideas: An ice-cold score is equivalent to saying, "I don’t like certain people simply because of the views they hold." It is the essence of intolerance, and it describes two-thirds of America's far left today (and nearly half of America's far right, which is not a whole lot better). The anger this group has is not just with President Bush or his policies, but rather with the average Americans who support him.

One explanation for the explosion in intolerance on the left is frustration, of course. The Bush administration has been an unmitigated nightmare for many liberals. From the Iraq war to the appointment of two conservative Supreme Court justices, America seems increasingly like an alien nation to some people. Worst of all, more than half the country was complicit in the nightmare when it supported Mr. Bush for re-election in 2004. No wonder extreme liberals, regardless of what they might claim in polite company, appear to dislike conservative people almost as much as they detest the president himself.

The author suggests that it will translate into Congress returning to democratic party hands. I disagree, because just hating the other half of the country more doesn't automatically increase your numbers. The right would have to stay home for the left to win. One other striking point, the author doesn't mention, but the implication is clear. The left wants not just power, but retribution. If they get in, expect the worst, political lynchings, special proscuters, Congressional hearings...

Are you now, or have you ever been a member of the Republican party?

Yeah, I think shitbirds like KOS and his minions are completely capable of inquistions. All their talk about rights, and civil liberties will somehow never get applied when it's a conservative on the roasting spit. They want revenge, bloody savage revenge. Do I really believethey would stage a coup, and just start rounding us up?

I think a lot of them would love too.

well now, this is new, the far left alternative news site has in it's employ a certain

Jason Leopold, the reporter who asserted May 13 that Karl Rove had been indicted in the CIA leak case, told the syndicated Ed Schultz radio show that he stands by his original report.

Rawstory is left of the isle too, but surprisingly, I find them a lot more open and intellectually honest, than Truthout. This link shows why I think this. I don't hate the left, only the part of the left that seems to think that all differing opinions aren't wrong, but evil. Anyway, I'll be bookmarking them, since I don't mind a chance to talk to someone who disagrees, and doesn't think that makes me the anti-Christ. But I digress.

JL: Sure. This is a team effort, and I am not the only one working . . . this is an effort by TruthOut . . .

ES: Well, to save their credibility as well, if you don't give your sources, you and the webside may have some tough integrity and credibility issues down the road, don't you think?

JL: Yeah. And we're actually . . . you know . . . working on that.

ES: Okay. Oh, you're working on that. But America's going to need to know your sources. I mean, somebody . .--

further down.

JL: Isn't it fair, isn't it fair, though to at least, I'm not saying give me the benefit of the doubt at all. I'm just saying I'd like to hear from him first. I, you know, am not going to go out there simply because I act on behalf of an organization, my editor has spoken with all of the sources, and we're continuing to do that. And certainly, certainly if some bad information was given, you know, we'll decide what the appropriate thing to do is. But at this point, if something did happen four weeks ago and suddenly during the course of the past four weeks it changed in Karl Rove's favor, I don't know how that would . . . you know . . . how does that make me and my story particularly wrong. And what I'm saying is . . .

ES: Well, what I mean is you reported there was going to be an indictment. And . . .
JL: Right. I reported that .

This guy gets skinned, I mean really flayed alive. Raw Story seems to be truely up on this. Wether it's because they are just firmly commited to the truth, or if it's a matter of crushed expectations, displaced anger, since they can't have Rove's body..... Your guess is as good as mine.

KOS, you're such a fool

Rove continues to smear war heroes

"Like too many Democrats it strikes me they are ready to give the green light to go to war, but when it gets tough, they fall back of that party's old platform of cutting and running. They may be with you for the first few bullets but they won't be there for the last tough battles," he said.

and this is a smear on their military records how exactly? Democrats started Vietnam remember KOS? Kennedy, McNamra, Johnson..... and when it turned into a freaking mess your beloved party did what?

Ran away, crying about Nixon's war... a war they began, and then pussed out on. "Hey hey LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?" your beloved hardcore left did that. smearing soldiers and the president, of your very own party....

But then your party's history has never been something you knew much about is it?

You build a strawman about his knocking their service record, which he never mentioned, he attacked your party's record. You then launch into a smear of your own on Rove, and the entire republican party.

But Rove is doing what Republicans do best -- use troops for political props, but then trash them when politically expedient. They have no respect for those who have served because they, themselves, haven't given anything to their countries.

No sense of duty. No sense of shared sacrifice. No sense of respect to those who wore combat boots.

Its the modern Republican Party in action.

Nice rant, except for one thing, a Hell of a lot of us are veterans. Veterans are overwhelmingly conservative, which is obvious to everyone but ... you. The Milbloggers of course you can't account for, seeing as how they have such a low opinion of you. "No sense of duty" of "Shared sacrifice" you, YOU can actually say that without choking? YOU of the infamous "screw them" comment. You question anyone else's commitment to the troops? You ought to be ducking a lightning strike for that kind of hypocrisy.

It would seem to that the troops currently in Iraq don't share your hatred of all republicans. Could it be,... that maybe.... they think that....

you're full of shit?

U.S. President George W. Bush (R) greets military personnel and embassy employees at the U.S. Embassy after he arrived in Baghdad for a surprise visit to the city, June 13, 2006. REUTERS/Larry Downing (IRAQ)

and women don't avert their eyes to him, gasp..... they actually seem glad to see him...ohhhhhh.
The troops didn't start chanting blood for oil? HHmmmmm, could it be that your belief that the GOP treats them badly is...

you know....

I heard his speech on radio, and the troops actually cheered him. Did that hurt your widdle fweeings? I freakin hope so, because widdle boy, you crawl out on the leftwing any further, you'll be coming nose to tushy with your own ass.

no respect for the troops, where did they get this guy, bargin bin at Wal-Mart?

Surprise........ bet they will love this.

Bush Makes Surprise Visit to Iraq

President Bush arrived in Baghdad today for a face-to-face meeting with new Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki -- an effort, the White House said, to get a clear sense of the premier's priorities and how the U.S. government could help his government succeed.

The White House originally had said Bush was scheduled to be at Camp David and to hold a video-conference with Maliki this morning. Instead, without telling the Iraqi government or all but his closest advisers, the president slipped out of Washington last night and made the 11-hour trip to Baghdad International Airport, landing at 4:08 p.m. Baghdad time (8:08 a.m. EDT).

I expect that KOS and company will both say this is another "yawn" PR stunt, don't bother to look, aaaannnnnd, that IT'S AN OUTRAGE, HIM TAUNTING THE TERRORISTS WILL ONLY BRING ON MORE ATTACKS AND DEATH. The response I predict will be that schizo, both yawner and outrage.

Personally, I love it when George does the unpredictible, it rattles the left even more than it does al-Qeada. Something that KOS didn't forsee? on no, say it ain't so Marcus. The all knowing seer to the left blindsided? Caught unprepared?

I expect a little more rage than usual from them. Instapundit provided the link.

No, they can't.

Can liberal bloggers and Democrats get along?

The Democratic players back in Washington think these bloggers have way too much attitude; they recall what happened when one of their own, strategist Steve Elmendorf, told a reporter that Democratic candidates should not become "captive of the activist left." For that, Moulitsas called Elmendorf a "sleazebag," threatened to wreck his business, and triggered a flamewar against the guy. This is why, today, the D.C. insiders will only voice their concerns about the bloggers in exchange for anonymity.

KOS and his players are only for inquisitions, hammering down anyone that isn't playing from the far left socialist deck. The louder KOS screams he's in control, the better republicans look to voters. Because quite simply, KOS is an asshole, and his allies are the East German Secret Police. Dare not to think any thought not KOS approved, or they won't just yell, they'll try to destroy you personally.

And he thinks he's not an extremist?

The link is from Classical Values, who I came to via the Instapundit. The gentleman Eric is very good in his take on lefty bloggers, and he's right I think in that dissent is much more tolerated in the GOP, than the Democrat party.

Polman does not say why. Instead, he focuses on things like Moulitsas' baggy shorts ("he looks like the kid who might mow your lawn"), and the lefty blogger preference for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches over shrimps and martinis. I think such superficial matters conceal something more important, and that something is a genuine fear of what the lefty bloggers say.

They admit what Democrats are not allowed to admit. That they're socialists.

That they are staunchly antiwar, and in general oppose a strong national defense. That the United States is a big, bad imperialistic power. That big business is bad.

For the Democratic Party, such views are bad for business.

Yes it is. It makes getting republicans elected a lot easier when your opponent is supported by nutjobs in khaki shorts. I did like the tinfoil hat thing, I know they were attempting to mock the right's use of it as derogatory, but it still made them look like a pack of clowns.

bad PR idea, which we on the right greatly appreciated, thanks guys, way ta fumble....

Yawn,...another Hollywood lefty.

Redford To Democrats: Show More Courage

WASHINGTON (June 12, 2006) -- The Sundance Kid gathered up the nerve to jump off a cliff with Butch Cassidy. Now, he wants Democrats to show similar backbone

Unintentionally funny I'm sure. The action he advocates is entirely that, (jumping off a cliff) since the scientific community is finally showing some courage of it's own in exposing the alarmist hoax that Al Gore is pushing. And that's exactly what it is, a hoax designed to allow control freaks among the so called elites to tell you how to live your life, and what you are allowed to own.

I always find it amusing when a Hollywood type with his own fuel guzzeling entourage tells me that my lawn mower is destroying the planet. Especially when like Gore, he burns jet fuel by the ton to travel all over and chastise America for being wasteful. He could, you know, just say it on TV, but then he'd have to pay for that, and fund raisers seem to be the primary goal.

So, I find his evangelism on this suspect.

in short, Gore's talking through his ass.

The total warming since measurements have been attempted is thought to be about 0.6 degrees Centigrade. At least half of the estimated temperature increment occurred before 1950, prior to significant change in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. Assuming the unlikely case that all the natural drivers of planetary temperature change ceased to operate at the time of measured atmospheric change then a 30% increment in atmospheric carbon dioxide caused about one-third of one degree temperature increment since and thus provides empirical support for less than one degree increment due to a doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Redford thinks that democrats should show some courage? So do I, how about talking real and not junk science for a change? That would be anice change for them. It also would piss off the enviro junk science lobby, which is why they will never say a trueful thing about the enviroment.

It doesn't pay as much for them.

And liberals say that it's Bush who is a nazi.

Geno's will be given up to two weeks to respond and, if the agency determines the sign has violated the city ordinance, will be ordered to take the sign down. If the restaurant refuses, it will be subject to a $300 fine, Lawton said.

Geno's owner Joey Vento, the grandson of Italian immigrants, said he has no plans to remove the sign.

"I don't see why I should have to. It's freedom of speech," said Vento, 66, who opened the restaurant 40 years ago.
"This is dividing this nation," he said. "I'm really saddened by these individuals who are upset by having to be tolerant. I'm glad I'm living in an America where comments like Mr. Vento's are out of order."

"Out of order"? Jesus H Christ, is this freakin moron even aware that the First Amendment applies to everyone, and not just leftwing hacks with a budget and a fetish for crushing anything remotely like a different opinion?

"Roberto Santiago, executive director of the city's Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations," Roberto is goose stepping all over an American's right to do business in English? What's next, mandatory signs in ten languages and brownshirts hauling you off to jail because you chose to speak only the language of the country you were born in? What the fuck is wrong with these people?

Would this dumbass even blink at a sign in Mexico City saying Spanish only please?

Would he?

This is just pure laziness, immigrants who refuse to assimilate trying to force everyone else to speak their language, cause English is just too hard to learn. It's bullshit, and Roberto knows it is. His type is the kind who forever is looking for a reason to badmouth the country that took him and his family in. Racist, because we don't want to have to bother learning the language of every immigrant? Spanish, but hey, there's Chinese and Slavic, Russian, Korean, Japanese, where do we stop,... Why not make Roberto have to post all his agencies signs and pamphlets in the top ten languages, why not Robby? Too expensive, pony up you fascist, to much bother? You aren't racist, not a hatemonger.......

Are you?

Bridging the Gap
by The Why Not Guy
Sun Jun 11, 2006 at 12:27:51 AM PDT
I'm spoiled. Not in any financial sense, lord knows, but because I lead a relatively sheltered life in Buffalo, a purplish section of a solidly blue state. I work for a progressive health services agency, and my co-workers are overwhelmingly Democrat and Liberal. Oh sure, I have Republican co-workers too, but they're the Republicans you can engage in conversation without feeling the need to boil your clothing as soon as you get home. I learn a lot from them.

Oh sure, I have republican co-workers, kind of like,.. oh sure I work with black people, to insulate them from being called racist before they launch into a tirade filled with sterotypes and racial slurs. He knows GOOD, republicans, meaning the tame kind who being wildly outnumbered and worried about their jobs, who might not choose to fight back against his idiotic statements of broad strokes and generalizations.

Still, once in a while the real world forces its way into my little private HappyLand. (how that must suck for you, different thoughts... how terrible!) Back in the early 1990s, Operation Rescue came to town and transformed Buffalo - overnight - into the main battlefield in the abortion war. ( I'm no friend to operation rescue, and if he bothered to check, he'd find that most republicans aren't either. But it makes for a jucier story to just lump us all together, like democrat..commie, what's the difference?) It was a scary time. Tens of thousands of people from both side of the issue traveled to Buffalo, itching for a fight. Though tensions were high, violence never broke out. (shudder,.... please hold me, you know that they are all .. (whisper,).... violent don't you? They aren't in control, like WE ARE.

As high profile rallies and demonstrations attended by 10,000 people gradually gave way to a few dozen stragglers at clinic defense every Saturday morning, these "others" lost their power over me. (what? like you were held transfixed by our secret Jedi mind tricks before this moment? Or is it, that like your intimidated GOP coworkers, you didn't want to say anything when the crowd wasn't on your side? What a "Profile in Courage" you are WNG, stand up to the man when everybody leaves and it's just a few harmless stragglers left. Bet it took alot of guts to stand toe to toe with them women and children.)These weren't people to fear. They were pathetic, misguided, simple. Some were clearly developmentally disabled or mentally ill. They just thought they were doing the right thing. (So having a different view isn't wrong, it's a sickness then? Oh,.. it's just brain damage, and you can feel sorry for them instead of hating them. How compassionate of you Guy. A regular humanitarian, right up there with the doctors who put dissenters into the Gulag and mental hospitals in the USSR. They must be sick, having a different opinion is just not healthy, and we're only trying to help them.

We all got spoiled.(Buddy, the spoiling of you got started WWWWWAAAAAAAYYYYY before this moment in time. Mummy and daddy just protected you from all those evil thoughts till now.)

Ever since the initial shock of September 11, 2001 wore off, I'm seeing changes that I don't much like. (without a doubt.) The faces I see on television or on the internet aren't simply trying to do the right thing. They're hateful faces, the faces of people who would hurt me - in a second - if they thought they could get away with it. (do you get the feeling, he's not talking about al-Qeada? And not trying to do the right thing? OK then, we're back to being not retarded or ill, but EVIL, can't you see the malevelent intent in their eyes? EVIL EVIL EVIL EVIL EVIL EVIL EVIL........ When you consider that after September 11th, the people that frighten this guy are conservatives, you have to ask. What the fuck is wrong with you? Those "hateful faces" you bemoan, how many buildings did they destroy? How many of them carry box knives just hoping to cut your throat? This WNG is a walking example of self delusion, he accuses us of evil intent, based on what? His soft and fussy feelings got hurt by all this hunt down the bad guys talk? And he thinks the Op Rescue people are retarded?

The problem with hatred is that it seems to shut down the rest of the brain. (Well that would explain alot of his irrational fear of the right now wouldn't it?) Critical thinking, logic, curiosity, it all goes out the window and all that's left is a burning hatred. (Two for two, he's on a roll now. Everything he's already admitted to, the immediate fear he feels of republicans when it wasn't the GOP that flew those planes into the WTC towers, now was it. It's clear as crystal that he's suffering from that very same malady, hate.)

This week I had a message board exchange with a woman who told me, flat out: You Liberals are the only ones making a big deal out of gay marriage. Conservatives don't want to make it an issue. (Orin Hatch and a few preachers do not amount to all conservatives, but don't let annoying things like facts bog you down WNG, after all you have your broad brush and tar all ready to use.) I replied, as civilly as possible, (ha,,, I bet.) citing examples of Conservatives who did indeed want to make gay marriage an issue. ( So Michael Moore says Bush plans to eat your children, and John Conyers backshim up, does that mean all liberals think we engage in canabolism? I can find two examples of leftys making all kinds of wacked out claims, do I then get the right to extrapolate that into all leftwingers are in that same nut house? no? ...why not then? oh right, it's do as I say, not as I do again.)Her reply? You're just another Bush-hater. ( I seriously doubt that it was her entire reply, but the nice thing about tales like this is the ability to edit your opponents comments for them. Especially when it just furthers your point, case closed, I'm done and you're guilty. Report to the re-education camps immediately.)

Now, this goes beyond simple disagreement. This isn't two people looking at an issue from two different perspectives debating their positions. This isn't even someone who watches Fox News and gets a distorted perspective. (As opposed to the real news you get from Buzzflash and the Smirking Chimp? FOX at least has the necessity of broadcasting actual facts, as horribly inconvient it is for you. But the sites leftys love so much don't have the same restrictions, so you can just hear what you want to. Republicans are evil, and dammit, why do they insist on denying it....)This is someone who can take in the same information as you and me and still come up with something completely off the scale of reality. (Like believeing that our elected officials aren't to blame for al-Qeada? Or that Islamicist thugs want to wreck and destroy what they can't control? Or that toppling arab tyrants is a good thing when it frees 26,000,000 people? Those kinds of things? The WNG is in torement that most of the country doesn't see an event, and immediately leap to the "It's that fucking Bush, it's ALL his doing!" party line?

Something like that?

So how do we talk to someone like this? (Well first off, try not exposing your own jump to being "completely off the scale of reality". Try not accusing us of being complicit in high crimes every time you open your mouth, that might help. It also won't happen, when you up front make it plain that the right is both evil and or crazy and mentaly retarded.) How do we engage in a conversation with somoene who thinks everything is going just great in Iraq or that Tom Delay is the victim of a Liberal witch hunt?(Again, while Iraq will is hardly a job completed, it's not either a quagmire or a lost cause. Why dickheads like you insist on hoping with clenched teeth that our attempt to give Iraq a functional democracy will fail, and all will perish in flames, it's making steady progress. Slowly but surely, we are building our way there. Tom Delay isn't a target for liberals? Since when? He can pay for his petty crimes, just like the dozen other house members, with a large share of... shhh..democrats can. He brought himself down, but to deny that liberals had nothing to do with it while dancing a snoopy happy dance over the coverage he's got from the MSM, is more than a little hypocritical. I do note that the Congressman caught on tape stuffing his pockets with money....

is a dimocrat. so smoke on that WNG, I plan on rubbing the nose of every lefty who screams corruption while averting their eyes to the party faithful. KOS thy name is hypocrit.

I don't know. And part of me doesn't want to know. (what a surprise, I'm underwhelmed at the shock of it.) I mean, logic won't work, or it already would have. (The first true thing he's said, logic has never worked on a KOSsak.) But I do think we need to find some way of communicating, because regardless of who or why or how they hate, they do, and that's not going to get better any time soon. (For starters, if you really want to talk, try not standing on a soap box and screaming at the top of your lungs that anyone who disagrees with you is crazy/racist/mentaly handicapped/corrupt/evil and just a "hater". His own screed is his own clue, but he lacks the insight to see it. Every charge of mean spirited hatefulness he makes can easily be turned and applied to his own words.

The right, and center, have no real reason to talk to the KOSsaks though, they're loosing. Their point of view however much they cry about it, is not widely accepted. Bus was re-elected, the Iraqi war was authorised by Congress, and they have not withdrawn that support. Asshats like Marcus say illegal, as if the charge were real, just because they say it is. If they want to win on occasion, they need to understand some basics. Americans don't like, or trust screaming fanatics, and that is how they come across. Bush won, because most Americans don't see him that way. Kos kids can cry about that all day, but saying we aren't swayed by their facts and logic should give them pause. They need to re-examine their logic and recheck their facts. They often site things that have been widely debunked as fresh and true, offer logic that isn't.

We disagree with their entire premise, and they take that as a sign we're irrational. We see it as a fanatics grasping at illusions that have been largely disproved, embracing an idiology that has failed in every respect save the left's unwillingness to see just how wrong they have been. KOS is whistling past the graveyard of liberalism, hoping that it will reanimate and shuffle back to Frankie's lab for a tune up. The war is real, our enemies are real, and KOS's insistence that it's all a sham created by Rove is what kills them, because they are the true crazies here, the real mentaly stunted. They believe everything terrible, and nothing good about the other 70% of America.

and can't see why we tune them out?

KOS con, even betterer than Superzoo and Gradenmarket Expo... wuuu huuu.

The KOS convention, which they say is overwhelmingly successful with an attendence of 1000, seems to be almost as successful as the World Shoe Association at 35,000 attendees. But we won't quibble. Tim Blair provided the links. I never watched the KOSsaks much before now, but the hilarity factor alone seems to be worth a trip or two.

"What is amazing about us in the flesh is our diversity. "

Am I alone in noting that aside from the halls being nearly empty, that the faces in the KOS's own video are virtually all lily white? Did I miss something?, or did all the minorities step out for a sandwich when they shot the video? By diversity they must mean their wide ranging views which go from;

A. I hate George Bush and all republicans

B. I hate all republicans and George Bush.

Whhhoooooa... better hold down the lid guys, such wide ranging extremes might cause the building to collapse. Heh,... The thing is that's really funny, is that they believe they are an ASSet to the democrats,... "That we are IMPORTANT GOD DAMMIT, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO US",...

well they got the ass part right.

a little background.

The name puggs, and the email puggsthegrey, come from my honest to God real nickname. I've been known as puggs to friends at work for nearly twenty years. It was puggsley at first( odd sense of humor, well, really odd sense of humor), then shortened to puggs because of my tendency to be scrappy both verbally and in the physical sense when required. I get called that offline by friends only. The reason I use it as I do is pretty simple. My families privacy isn't open to debate.

Mark, or puggs, I answer to either.

Mental illness, don't let this happen to you...

The Democratic Underground, the loose collection of paranoids and social retards who are too extreme, even for KOS.

Maybe this just proves he was a CIA plant all along

Wrong: the fact that no Americans were killed during the processis simply reflecting the American tactic of bombing the fuck outof everything they can and eventually, due to the lack of undamagedplaces, they'll hit someone who could be claimed as a "target".They will continue with this tactic because they have people"hiding in clear view" (cough, cough, using a well-known fascistas an alias) who will defend their tactics against all-comersand "prove" that their cause is just, yea even "approved by God".

. a picture of FDR ! ! ! ! ! ! !
if THAT isn't proof enough of this being the work of a shameless FAR right american propagandist i don't know what is.

No kidding. It's damned tacky. You'd think they'd be too concerned

They can't help themselves can they? Every single news item is a CIA plant, or Rovian one, or fill in the blank. They even suggest that FDR's picture being found there is a plant. Especially interesting because who exactly has said that it means anything? Has anyone heard of a person claiming that it was anything but an odd bit of coincidence? anyone? They wallow in their delusions and laugh about the thought that they might appear insane or traitorous to anyone else. All Americans are thugs or killers, unless you happen to be one of the enlightened DU freaks of nature.

these guys really do need to get off the caffiene and start taking their meds.

well, actually, they should just take the whole bottle, but that's me being optimistic.

Now, the rats turn on each other.

In the wake of the attack, says the Jordanian security official, members of al-Zarqawi's organization in Iraq launched a series of interrogations in search of those who sold out their leader, leading Jordanian officials to hope that the hit is already causing dissension in jihadist ranks. U.S. intelligence officials believe al-Qaeda in Iraq is likely to name a successor soon, and the Bush Administration was careful to point out that the insurgency will outlive al-Zarqawi. But no one who comes next will have his twisted star power, at least not for a while. "The violence is not only al-Qaeda," says the Jordanian security official. "But this weakens one important link. It's a warning to all these groups that they are not immune. If we can get Zarqawi, we can get you too." [The following descriptive text appears within A diagram] The Strike

If anyone thinks that al-Qaeda will be squeamish about due process and the rights of the accused, then they aren't very smart. This will be a purge akin to Hitler's or Stalin's. They will torture and kill a lot of their own people in this attempt to find the informants.

excellent, it spells the kind of internal rifts that will lead to the sorts of mistakes that will expose them even more to attack. As is pointed out, it doesn't end the war, but after the assasination attempt on Hitler he proceeded to kill his best officers without regard to the consequences. Zarq's bully boy's are less skilled, and if even a few of the smarter ones are killed this way, it greatly aids our efforts.

Hamas militants called off a truce with Israel on Friday after a barrage of Israeli artillery shells tore into Palestinians at a beachside picnic in the Gaza Strip, killing seven civilians.
The declaration raised the prospect of a new wave of bloodshed. Hamas militants suspended a campaign of deadly suicide attacks on Israelis with a February 2005 cease-fire, and have largely stuck to the truce. The Islamic group now leads the Palestinian government.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack on the beach as a "genocidal crime." He called for international intervention and declared a three-day period of mourning. His rival, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas, said the shelling was a "war crime" and urged an end to recent fighting between Hamas and Abbas' moderate Fatah movement.

884 people have been murdered and 5932 have been injured in Israel as a result of Palestinian violence and terror attacks between September 2000 and October 2003, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Below are the most significant of these attacks.

Oct. 4, 200329-year-old female suicide bomber from Jenin explodes in a Haifa restaurant, co-owned by Israeli Arabs, two days before Yom Kippur. 19 murdered, including several children. A newborn and 4 Israeli-Arabs were among those killed. 60 injured.

Sept. 9, 2003Twin homocide bomb attacks take place near the Zerifin Military Base and at a Jerusalem cafe. 15 murdered. Among the dead in the cafe attack were Dr. David Applebaum, head of the emergency room of a Jerusalem hospital, and his daughter Nava, a bride to be married the next day.

Aug. 19, 2003 - The attack takes place in the midst of a "cease-fire" declared by Palestinian terror groups and on the eve of a planned transfer of several West Bank cities to Palestinian Authority control.A Palestinian suicide bomber, dressed as an Orthodox Jew, strikes on a Jerusalem bus.23 murdered, including several children. More than 100 are injured.

I do not post this to say that the family killed by Israeli artillery was a good thing, far from it, it sickens me. But so does this,

Two weeks ago Hamas gunmen shot dead a youth whose family tried to stop them firing rockets from their backyard for fear of reprisals, but the blockade may yet rebound on Israel.

Basel al Masri, a farmer who lost an acre and a half of grape vines, said: "Everybody here agrees that the militants should not fire from a densely populated area. But after this massive destruction, the people of Beit Hanoun will tell them to come and fire rockets from the tops of our houses."

The last was from a story filed from the Independent, a British leftwing paper not know for it's love of Israel.

If I were Abbas, I wouldn't throw out words like "genocide" and "war crimes".... There is a very clear distinction here. Israel does kill civilians yes, but by accident or happen stance not as Hamas does, as an act of policy. It's an important difference when you consider, how many helicopter gunships does Israel base out of private driveways?

how many of their soldiers fire artillery from backyards?

how many people does Israel shoot dead for daring to ask them not to place mortar tubes in school grounds?

public beaches?

How many times has Israel bombed open markets in the West Bank?

blown up bues?

pizza shops?

The Israeli's may not be angels, but Hamas sure as God made little green apples serves Hell.. Abbas can't get hamas to even agree to allow Israel to exist, can't get them to accept that a peaceful cease fire means,..

you freakin stop shooting.

"have largely stuck to the truce"... what does that mean, that they only murder Jews on tuesdays and thursdays? The world lets them get away with this charade, time and time again. Butcher children and scream about your "rights"... About your "peaceful" part time truce that allows you to just kill when you can't stifle the urge? I love my country, am sworn to obey the Constitution. But what if? If we were under attack, and the Army set up a MLRS in my backyard to fire, then scurry away to leave me, my wife and kids to eat the counter battery fire.

I might well rethink my loyalties.

The whole of the Palestinian people are nothing but cannon fodder for Hamas. Just another tool in the jihad. Anybody that feeds Hamas should be beaten with a two by four. These guys are monsters of the first order, why are we even debating this?

UK moonbat, and a professor too.

I troll through the British papers on occasion, looking for a glimpse of sanity, or a particularly outrageous bit of lunacy.

Shift in global power could leave the US isolated

Sir: Chomsky is right. (he heh, ok, a chuckle right off the bat.)
The United States is facing a rapid decline ("All washed up", 30 May). It remains locked in the assumption that military power (the US is responsible for 39 per cent of global arms expenditure) can protect western economic interests, and America's own distorted interpretation of notions such as "freedom" and "democracy". ("rapid decline"? By what measure? The fact that chomsky of the deluded says so is hardly proof of anything, short of the ability of his cultist followers to kneel and wail on command. Also, our choice to spend as much as we do on defense is more a condemnation of others shortsighted "can't we all just hug an Al Quada and just get along" delusions than our aggressiveness. We are already a magnitude above every other military power in both technology and skill, and that isn't cheap. We spend on R&D, and that ensures our continued supremecy. In ten years, we'll be so far ahead, that other militaries will be still using oxes and carts by comparison. It's hardly our fault that Europe chooses to disarm in the face of aggression, chooses to be irrelevant.)

The Bush administration, distracted by its "war on terror", fails to respond adequately to much more significant threats, and developments in the geo-political environment which may overwhelm the United States and its allies.
The threats are not unconnected with current American policies and patterns of consumption, especially in relation to climate change and scarce resources.
)Those threats would be? Oil consumption? We adapt, and if we have too, we'll develope other means. That is hardly a major threat, unless you believe the oil will run out tomorrow at 2;30 pm. Othet developments? like what? The great and smelly unwashed left won't like us? Heh,... like that has or will ever change. The liberated Eastern Europeans are far more friendly to America than the decadent and declining Western Euro's are. They are hitching their hopes on us, not on the fanciful hope that a socialist europe will somehow find the balls to either resist us, or suddenly rival us. That dream has fallen apart, and our continued refusal to just roll over and play dead because half commie leftwing Brit professors don't like us is hardly going to change now.)
The US has been highly selective in its support for democratic change. US governments have regularly subverted democracy either covertly or through direct military intervention, often supporting client autocracies with appalling human rights records, including those of Pinochet in Chile, Noriega in Panama, Suharto in Indonesia, Saddam in Iraq, and most recently Karimov in Uzbekistan. (As opposed to the left's support of Chaves, Castro, Kim, Saddam, and going further back, the Soviets and ALL their client states, and of course the Palestinians support of Hamas, and bitter hatred of Israel. (Usually shared by a surprisingly open in their anti-semitism euro left.) The left has never supported anything BUT autocracies, their current embrace of any state that's opposed to the US regardless of their behavior is telling. Once the cold war ended, the naughty Noriega and Saddam, seem to have been toppled by... um,. who was it now?

oh yes, the very same mean old America.

The left loves to remind us that the cold war is over. Indeed, but they use it to say that our acts are immoral, yet they haven't once, not once gone back and repudiated a single embrace of a thug state they have made. The euro left now says we should just let the Iranians get the bomb. After all, they'll just threaten Israel with it. and they think that's sane?)
Under the guise of the "war on terror" the US is locked into ghastly adventurism in Afghanistan and Iraq, which while cravenly supported by the British government is reviled almost everywhere else. (Except in Afghanistan and Iraq, but we won't quibble now will we. And if the good profeesor actualy looked outside his incestuous campus lefty fog, he'd see that NATO has joined us in Afghanistan, and that decision isn't under debate anymore. Except in leftwing universities. The only "craven" thing in Britain is the leftwing there, which is unchanged from it's cold war era fixation on the rudeness of America for daring to actually exist.)
It has also sought to shore up US economic and political interests in Central Asia, driven by the need for access to oil. Meanwhile there is a seismic shift in global power which could leave the US isolated and thus likely to respond in the only way it will have left at its disposal: through war. ("Seismic shift", what, the Chinese? Their raise is as an economic power, and hardly one that will isolate us since we are their market, so they aren't likely to try and use that if the result is pain on their part. Anyone else? I doubt it. The thought that we'll be shunned and isolated by the entire planet is leftwing fantasy, one step below calling a phone sex line and believeing the girl actually does think you're a hunk. Laughable on it's face. Another leftwing fantasy, that we'll just go to war with anyone who disagrees. If that were true, a sniper would have dusted this asshat years ago.)
In 2001 the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was created, uniting China with Russia, and including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Uzbekistan joined later. Iran, India and Pakistan have all been invited to join as observers, and will probably become full members this year.( oh, we're supposed to be afraid of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan,Iran, India and Pakistan?.... Russia has it's own troubles and China has virtually no ability to project power outside it's own borders. Iran, we'll deal with soon enough.) Bizarrely the US asked to join in 2005, but unsurprisingly was turned down. The SCO could emerge as nothing less than an OPEC with nuclear weapons, and with a population of over 2.6bn. (Made all the papers did it, extra extra read all about US disappointment in being turned down on membership in Shanghai????? he can't be serious. TheChinese and Russians detest each other, and most of these states can't even make their own cars, let alone rival the US. If this is a real economic aliance, it may be a threat to market share, not to international policy, and then only in ten, or twenty years if, IF, they can act collectively. Somethin OPEC hasn't done well since 73. Next joke please)

It is essential that the UK, and the European Union, take account of these developments and return to a focused debate on why 9/11 happened and how the world community must address issues of inequality, injustice and environmental degradation. ( the debate on why 9/11 happened? in the world community? Well, if this weren't so pretensously simple minded, it would be funny. The EU will take the lead in addressing this? What drugs is this asshat on anyway? The EU's response was to do nothing but wring it's hands, it refuses to deal with the islamicist snakes in it's own midst, refuses to make basic attempts to choke off the growing anti-semitism in it's own states, refuses to even acknowledge that islamicists even pose a threat. And they know best?

Did you know Bin Laden was a rabid enviromentalist? Me either, but Simon seems to think so. the enviroment is the reason for 9/11? How can an educated person be this wilfully stupid, I mean bone numbingly, flat out, embrace your inner retard, STUPID! There's injustice in the world! News flash, there's always been injustice in the world, mostly because of people like you Simon, that Bin Laden has arisen because of our refusal to sign off on Kyoto? and the left can't understand why it's laughed at.)

These are issues that the US has chosen to ignore, and continues to do so. It may turn out to be a catastrophic folly.(oh,.... he hopes, he hopes, he hopes.. how can you rise to a position of learning as high as this and still, be so mindless in your irrationality. So blindly bigoted in your prejudices as to what the results of US policies are as to never see any light, ever? I bet Simon still celebrates Mayday and mourns the passing of the beloved Soviets, even as much as Chomsky does. China will never be a counter weight outside the UN Security Council, nor Russia. Russia is still on a teeter totter as to which way it'll go in it's attempts to recover from it's Soviet years. China is vast, but so are it's problems. I doubt very much it will do much other than give lip service toIran. It buys oil there, but does Simon says really think that they will risk war with us to protect Iran?)

Simon can be reached at his office, unless he's stepped out to his sandbox or swingset. He likes model building and socialist dogma, he often is known to go into a dead faint at the mention of the US President's name. A fan of hamas, and a subcriber to international terrorists monthly, Simon has penned many articles on the need for violent revolution to save the coastline marshes in Siberia from American degradations. All capitalist running dogs must die is his favorite qoute. I thought so.

Speaking to reporters, Bush mentioned that among the senior officers he called to offer congratulations for killing Zarqawi was Army Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, commander of Joint Special Operations Command, whose forces include the Army's clandestine counterterrorism unit, Delta Force.

I saw all the reports everyone else did, and I suspected that more than likely, US spec ops had the building under observation before and during the raid. Allowing the Iraqi police to approach the scene first is to be expected, as Delta wouldn't have exposed themselves if they wanted the Iraqi's themselves to claim credit for finding him. Delta isn't seen, if they don't wish to be. It also raises the possiblity that Zarqawi may have been either outside or attempting to leave when the F-16's made their run. I don't know if the autopsy report will be made public, but it's possible they may find a bullet wound, if they look hard enough, and if they choose to let it be known.

A lot of good reasons to let the Iraqi's claim credit, chief among them, Delta is the terror they are to our enemies precisely because they remain invisible. Another, is that the Iraqi government badly needs the prestige in the arab world of being tough, and strong enough to kill it's enemies. The Iraqi's couldn't get rid of Saddam themselves, but with help, they can eliminate second level butchers. Something that gives them pride, and confidence to go after more of them. Very soon, they can do things like this without help.

and that is very good, for us. Free's up assets for other things..

like Iran.
